Writing and the Natural World: A One-Day Retreat for Women

How the mirror of nature reflects our life stories

This one-day retreat for women, led by Author & Writing Guide Susan Hagen, combines writing and earth-based healing practices with an opportunity for deeper self-awareness.

The day begins with drumming, a sharing circle, and an introduction to the Medicine Wheel as a tool for balance and harmony. During the morning ceremony, you’ll be preparing for your Earth Walk, a period of time alone on the land. As you venture onto the earth with a question about or intention for your life, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know who you are in new and authentic ways.

Being alone with oneself in nature is one of the most ancient practices of self-awareness and spiritual growth known to humankind. The Earth Walk will be followed by reflective writing to help illuminate the ways in which the mirror of nature reflects your life stories. You’ll learn simple techniques for effortless writing and share your stories in a safe, supportive circle. No writing experience is necessary.

Here's what to bring
